What types of Pallet Racking does WSSI offer?
Pallet racking allows for pallets to be stored more efficiently in warehouses, particularly where space is at a minimum. At WSSI we take the time to understand the specific needs of your business in order to recommend the most appropriate type of pallet racking for you, and are able to install the following types of systems.
Adjustable pallet racking is a dependable system that is extremely popular as a result of being available in a range of different widths, heights (up to 30m) and depths, as well as being simple to install. It is best suited to an industrial warehouse environment, as it can be arranged with any size of pallet, and can also be used for a variety of operations that use a forklifttruck.
The main features and benefits of adjustable pallet racking are:
- It is easy to install
- Beam positions are fully adjustable
- It offers quick pallet access
- It allows the storage of a variety of products.
Narrow aisle pallet racking is a dependable system that can help to maximise space in warehouses where space is at a premium, and can be used alongside specialist narrow aisle forklift trucks, as well as picking operations that are fully automated.
The main features and benefits of narrow aisle pallet racking are:
- It is uses operating aisles that are extremely narrow
- It increases working height so that space can be maximised
- It minimises damage to racks
- It improves warehouse efficiency
- Cubes are maximised and throughput is increased.
Drive-in pallet racking uses the FILO (first in, last out) system to allow for pallets to be accessed from a single aisle using forklift trucks. It allows for bulk storage of a single type of product, in a similar way to block stacking, however it provides a much more efficient solution.
The main features and benefits of drive-in pallet racking are:
- It allows for the safe storage of delicate products
- It allows for a slower rotation of stock
- Single products can be stored in bulk
- It can be used for cold store or freezer applications.
Double-deep pallet racking enables the bulk storage of a particular product in pallets that are two deep per side. As a result, warehouse space is maximised, and space efficiency is also improved compared to a standard type of wide aisle racking. It is also important to be aware that due to the increased depth of the racking, specialist reach trucks will need to be used, and that there will be more restricted access to the pallets too.
The main features and benefits of double-deep pallet racking are:
- Space is maximised across the warehouse
- Space efficiency is improved
- Fewer operating aisles are needed
- Bulk quantities of the same product can be easily stored.
Push back pallet racking uses the FILO system to create lanes in warehouses that are product specific. This means that products are more easily accessible, making push back pallet racking the ideal pallet solution for warehouses and logistical operations that are slow moving.
The main features and benefits of push back pallet racking are:
- There is increased efficiency
- Pallets can be accessed quickly and easily
- There is a reduced need for maintenance
- Products can be stored in bulk.
Types of Push Back Pallet Racking
There are two main types of push back pallet racking: cart push back and roller push back, and the type that you require will depend on the needs and requirements of your warehouse business.
Cart Push Back
- Pallets are placed on carts that have been fitted onto storage lanes that are sloped.
- Every time new pallets are added, the carts are pushed along the rails, which means that you will be able to store up to four pallets deep per level
- In addition, pallets will move forward each time a pallet at the front is removed, allowing for easy access.
Roller Push Back
- Uses an adjustable pallet racking system that is installed in the base of the racking system’s channels
- As a result it is possible to store up to 10 pallets at a time, and storage is maximised each time a new pallet is added.
